About Us

HKSH Pain Management Centre employs an integrated, multidisciplinary approach in treating or helping patients cope with pain conditions. Its programme aims at relieving suffering of patients as well as improving their psychological well-being, social well-being and quality of life. The centre provides consultation and pain education (e.g. self-coping techniques) to patients suffering acute or chronic pain.

Problems like common pain conditions of the body and joints, headache, post-operative and difficult pain syndromes, neuropathic pain, post-herpetic neuralgia, terminal cancer pain and psychosomatic pain are treated with a multi-modal team approach. We also provide multi-dimensional assessment of the patient's personal pain experience. The centre offers a wide range of options in modern pain therapy to ensure more effective pain management service and quicker recovery. Helmed by highly experienced anaesthesiologists, we also provide Monitored Anaesthesia Care (MAC) to patients undergoing day surgeries at our HKSH Healthcare Day Surgery Centre.
